GREENSBORO, N.C. The University of Hawai'i women's diving team put an end to its 2021 season with the NCAA Championships' final day on Saturday with the platform event at the Greensboro Aquatic Complex.

Freshman Elma Lund made her first appearance at the national championships following the lead of sophomore Daphe Wils from Thursday and Friday. Lund placed at 41st overall with a final score of 198.65 and an average score of 39.73 with each dive.

During her first attempt on a forward 3 ½ somersault tuck for a score of 60.75, her best dive of the day was placed at 9th overall. Her following attempt with inward 2 ½ somersault pike did not score well, coming in at 16.80, hurting her chances at finishing in the top third of entries. Her following dives of a back 2 ½ somersault ½ twist and an arm stand forward 2 somersault pike, each scored over a 45.00, with her arm stand dive scoring a 51.60.

UH will continue with two divers competing in next week's men's championship. Junior Max Burman will be joined by freshman Zach Lundgren starting on Thursday, March 25th. Burman will be in both 1-meter and 3-meter, while Lundgren will have a chance in the platform.
