HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team continues its fall season this week as they host the Rainbow Wahine Invite. The tournament runs for five days over the next two weeks, Nov. 4-5 this week and Nov. 11-13 next week.. Hawai'i will take on members from cross-town rival, HPU.
Members of the Rainbow Wahine squad most recently competed in the ITA Southwest Regionals in San Diego, Calif. in late October.
Satsuki Takamura advanced the farthest of any of her teammates, notching a pair of wins in the Main Draw before falling in the Round of 32 in the regional tournament. UH rookie
Gitte Heynemans won her opening match in the Main Draw, but she fell in the Round of 64.
The other five Rainbow Wahine competing lost their first round matches in the Main Draw, but they did well in the Consolation Draw. On the third day of the touney, all six who were playing in the Consolation won both their singles and doubles matches for a clean sweep.
