University of Hawai'i all-purpose back
Calvin Turner Jr., has accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl, America's longest-running college football all-star game.

The Shrine Bowl will be played Feb. 3, 2022, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., as part of NFL Pro Bowl week. Turner will be the 22
nd former Rainbow Warrior to compete in the all-star game and first since Dejon Allen in 2018.

The Savannah, Ga., native played two seasons at Hawai'i and earned second-team all-Mountain West honors twice. This season, Turner led the Warriors in all-purpose yards (1,523), touchdowns (12), and receptions (73) and ranked second in receiving yards (876). He scored at least one touchdown in 16 of 22 career games played, which included several highlight reel plays that garnered national attention.

After playing three seasons at Jacksonville, Turner transferred to UH in time for the 2020 season and helped lead the Warriors to a New Mexico Bowl title, in which he was named the game's Offensive MVP. In his collegiate career, he eclipsed 1,000 career yards in passing, rushing, and receiving.
