KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team wraps up its Fall schedule, resuming their annual contest against Stanford on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 2:00 p.m and Monday, Nov. 22 at 11:30 a.m. The Rainbow Wahine will host the Cardinal at the Fairmont Orchid's, Hawaii Tennis Center on the Kohala Coast on the Big Island of Hawai'i.
The Rainbow Wahine are coming off the five-day Rainbow Wahine Invite. In singles, newcomers
Tal Talya Zandberg and
Gitte Heynemans both recorded a 4-1 record, while
Nidhi Surapaneni and Léa Romain tallied three wins apiece. In doubles, UH's duo of Romain and Heynemans led the Rainbow Wahine going a perfect 4-0 in the tourney against Hawai'i Pacific.
In the past 23 years, Stanford has come to Hawai'i to play the Rainbow Wahine in the fall, including a stretch of 15-straight years from 1999-2013. Stanford finished the 2021 season ranked at No. 23. They currently have two players listed in the pre-season ITA rankings with No. 24 Michaela Gordon and No. 87 Angelica Blake.
