Rainbow Sailors Score Runner-Up Finish at PCCSC Match Race

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow sailing team placed second at the PCCSC Match Race Championship, hosted by Stanford, Oct. 2. It's the second straight time that the Rainbow sailors finished runner-up at the event.

A total of four schools competed in the regatta with Owen Lahr skippering and Hayden Lahr, Bastien Rasse, and Devon Stapleton serving as crew for UH.  The regatta was sailed in a triple round-robin format.

The Rainbows went 6-3 during the event, sweeping head-to-head races against Cal Maritime and UC Santa Barbara. The only losses were against host Stanford, who went on to win the event with an unscathed mark (9-0) and earn a berth to the ICSA Match Race Nationals.

Next up for the 'Bows is the Stoney Burke Intersectional, Oct. 9-10, hosted by Cal.
