ON THE PITCH
- The Rainbow Wahine suffered their ninth loss of the season in their last contest, falling to UC Irvine 4-1. In the defeat, freshman forward Nicole Ando recorded the lone goal and her first-career goal while being outshot 14-11 and falling into a 4-0 hole.
- UH has three remaining matches to prevent from being on the wrong side of history. Since the program's creation in 1994, the 'Bows have never had a winless season. The lowest win total over the previous 26 seasons is marked at three and has happened three times previously in 1995, 2010, and 2015.
- The last recorded victory for UH came against UC Davis on October 31st, 2019, in a 3-2 shootout. The victory pushed the 'Bows into the top four of the Big West Conference standings giving the program its first-ever bid into the conference tournament.
- Sophomore forward Kelci Sumida remains the 'Bows' top offensive threat scoring four goals this season, but 2021 has opened the door for what the future might hold. Four players outside of Sumida have scored this season, all four notching their first career goals at UH, and three are freshmen. Trini Quiroz, Krista Peterson, and Ando have shown the ability to attack and find the net, while Quiroz has also recorded two assists on the season.
- The last three matches put UH in interesting matchups to try and pick up their first win. UC Davis is fighting for their playoff lives with a three-way tie for the fourth-place position. CSU Bakersfield is winless against conference opponents and last recorded a win against Idaho State on September 19th. While UC San Diego is on the outside looking at in from the seventh spot of the standings.
