HONOLULU - The University of Hawai
'i men's tennis team will take on fellow Hawai'i team HPU in the UH-HPU Invitational this weekend, Saturday, Oct. 16 and Sunday, Oct. 17 at the UH Tennis Complex.
The men's team come back to Hawai'i after participating in the ITA All-American regionals in Tulsa, Okla., where junior Andre Ilagan made a historic run in the tournament, reaching the semi-finals before falling to San Diego's 28th-ranked August Holmgren.
Three transfers also made their UH debut in Tulsa - freshmen Killian Maitre, Karl Collins, and sophomore Guillaume Tattevin. Maitre and Tattevin made it to the second round of the prequalifying bracket while Collins made it to the prequalifying consolation bracket before falling to Texas A&M's Kenner Taylor. Senior Blaz Seric advanced in the consolation bracket after defeating Ole Miss' Walker Stearns in straight-sets, 6-4, 6-2.
The Warriors are set to challenge the Sharks in both singles and doubles matches throughout the two day invite.
