Men’s Volleyball Picked No. 2 in AVCA Preseason Poll

The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team will open the 2021 season ranked No. 2 in the AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Rainbow Warriors earned 224 points and trailed only preseason favorite BYU, who received all 14 first place votes and 238 points. UH was one of five Big West Conference schools ranked in the Top 10 along with No. 3 UC Santa Barbara, No. 4 Long Beach State, No. 6 UC Irvine, and No. 7 UC San Diego.

Last season, Hawai'i earned its first-ever preseason No. 1 ranking. The Warriors went 15-1 before the season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. UH held the No. 1 spot for the majority of the season until splitting a two-match series with BYU in Honolulu, which ultimately were the final matches of the 2020 season.

UH's 2021 schedule has not yet been released. Head coach Charlie Wade will begin his 12th season in Mānoa with a career record of 196-109.
