Federal Way, Wash.— The University of Hawai'i diving team punched its first two tickets to the NCAA Championships after a solid showing at the Zone E Qualifier meet on Monday.

Daphne Wils continues to be a force as she finished first overall in the women's one-meter dive with a score of 634.80. Wils led throughout the day as she placed first in the prelims as well at 312.00. A total of 12 divers qualified from the Zone E event, with Wils cementing herself as one of the top divers in the country.

"Daphe (Wils) was very impressive today," said head coach
Mike Brown. "She's competing at a very high level, and being consistent with every attempt. We're excited to see what she does tomorrow in three-meter dive."

Max Burman stepped up and put together a collection of impressive dives to place fourth in the men's three-meter with a score of 732.90. Seven divers from the event qualified for the NCAA Championships, including Burman. Both Burman and Wils will make their debuts on the national stage at the championships due to their performances.

The events will be flipped tomorrow, as the women will compete in the three-meter, and the men will go in the one-meter. Burman and Wils will compete in both events, as they'll look to qualify in multiple events.
