HONOLULU – The top-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team opened the 26
th Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Invitational with a 25-10, 25-15, 25-17 win over Queens, Thursday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Rainbow Warriors (10-0) remained perfect on the year and extended their home win streak to 23 dating back to 2018. UH also improved to 3-0 all-time against Queens.

Charlie Wade started an entirely new lineup with freshman
Dimitrios Mouchlias and
Danny Wong making their first career starts. Mouchlias finished with a career-high seven kills while fellow freshman
Chaz Galloway added seven kills and five digs. Middle blocker
Max Rosenfeld led all attackers with a match-high nine kills, hitting .818 and three blocks.
As a team, UH hit .434 while Queens hit .025. Tristan Santoyo had a team-high six kills for the Royals (4-5).
After letting Queens back in Set 1 and leading only 13-10, the Warriors scored the final 12 points behind the serving of
Jakob Thelle for a 25-10 victory. UH hit .458 for the set and limited the Royals to a -.095 clip.
Queens kept it close again early on in Set 2 before the Warriors ran away. With the score tied at 6-6, Hawai'i scored five of the next six points before Wade emptied his bench again. With more seldom-used players seeing the court in Set 3, the Warriors still continued to the dominate the match as UH hit .440 to complete the sweep.
In the tournament's opening match, fourth-ranked UC Irvine needed four sets to defeat No. 14 Concordia-Irvine, 24-26, 25-18, 25-21, 25-20. Joel Schneidmiller had a match-high 17 kills for the Anteaters.
The tournament continues on Friday with UC Irvine and Queens at 4:00 p.m., followed by UH and Concordia at 7:00 p.m.
