HONOLULU – The No. 1 University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team kept its home sweep streak alive against 14
th-ranked Concordia-Irvine on the second day of the 26
th Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Invitational Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center. Set scores were 25-19, 25-21, 25-15.
The Rainbow Warriors (11-0) were in complete control of the match, hitting .469 as a team with five hitters recording seven kills or more. UH extended its home win streak to 24 and will next face fellow Big West foe UC Irvine in Saturday's tourney championship match.

Rado Parapunov had a match-high 17 kills, hitting .560 while outside hitter
Colton Cowell added 15 kills, seven digs, and three blocks. Middle blockers
Patrick Gasman (7) and
Guilherme Voss (7) did not commit a hitting error and combined for 10 blocks. Outside hitter
Filip Humler added eight kills, four digs, and five blocks and libero
Gage Worsley posted 12 digs.
The Warriors out-blocked the Eagles, 10.5 to 6.5. Raymond Barsemian tallied 11 kills to lead CUI (5-6).
UH jumped out to a 9-4 lead in Set 1 with a 6-1 run spurred by a two kills and a block by Gasman. The lead was 17-9 after a Cowell kill and a CUI error. Hawai'i went on to hit .447 in the set and Cowell (7) and Parapunov (6) combined for 13 of the team's 19 kills.
The Warriors used three blocks for the early advantage in Set 2. Voss came alive recording four straight kills as UH took a 15-11 lead at the media timeout. Humler's ace gave UH a 19-12 advantage but after the Eagles trimmed the UH lead to three, the Warriors sided-out to victory.
Hawai'i got off to torrid start in Set 3, scoring seven straight points behind the serving of Cowell for a 10-1 lead. It was never close as the Warriors complete the sweep.
UC Irvine remained perfect in the tournament following a four-set win over Queens in the day's earlier match. Joel Schneidmiller had a match-high 23 kills, hitting .618. On Saturday, Queens and Concordia will meet in the earlier match at 4:00 p.m., before the UH-UCI featured match.
