Women's Sailing

Rainbow Wahine Sailors Place Third At USF Intersectional

ST. PETERSBURG, FLa. - The University of Hawai'i women's sailing team placed third at the South Florida Women's Intersectional this weekend. It was a strong start to the spring season for sophomore Kahala Furukawa who skippered UH to a win in the B division. 

Host school USF captured the regatta (240 points), followed by fellow PCCSC member USC (250). A total of 10 teams competed in the regatta, and 18 races were competed with various conditions over the weekend. UH totaled 300 points, 60 points off the pace.

UH's B Division team led by Furukawa, Chloe Long and Megan Lucas totaled 129 points. The A divsion team was lead by Hayden Lahr, Isabelle Anderson and Jemma Baird. They totaled 171 points for sixth. 

Next up, the UH women's team will compete in the Bryson's Women's Intersectional on March 21-22 in Redwood City, Calif.
