University of Hawai'i women's tennis head coach Jun Hernandez received the written commitment from Arizona transfer Talya Zandberg to become a Rainbow Wahine in the 2021-22 season. Zandberg has spent three seasons as a Wildcat in Tucson, Ariz., and will complete her fourth season at Arizona this year before transferring to Hawai'i for her extra year of eligibility was granted by the NCAA to all spring sport athletes. 

A Tiberias, Israel native, Zandberg spent two years in the Israeli Air Force before beginning her collegiate career at Arizona. The Israeli won the Israeli U-18 Junior Championship in 2013 before her military commitment began after high school. 

Zandberg, a standout singles player in the Pac-12, played in the No. 1 singles position for the Wildcats in 2019-20 racking up 14 singles wins as a junior. As a sophomore, Zandberg won 20 total singles matches and tied a team-high with 12 singles wins in the spring portion of the season. 

In 2018 as a freshman, Zandberg became Arizona's 10th ever conference Player of the Week after starting the season 5-0. Zandberg is also a two-time Pac-12 Honor Roll recipient and was Student-Athlete of the month in September 2019. 

Zandberg is the youngest of five children, and is the only daughter of Michal and Avichi Zandberg.
