Honolulu—For the first time in his decorated career, senior Kane Follows of the University of Hawai'i men's swim team has been selected as the MPSF male athlete of the week.
 
Follows, an All-American and conference honoree from last season notched five total first-place victories in meets against Drury University and the University of Minnesota a week ago. He continues to be one of the more dominant members on the men's squad, providing to be a strong starter for multiple relay teams, and a contender in both the 100 and 200 backstroke events.
 
UH is training for the MPSF Championships, as the men's team will be trying to repeat as champions. The countdown for Follows and his teammates is just over a month with the first day of competition scheduled for Feb. 19.
