NEWPORT, R.I. - The University of Hawai'i coed sailing team will head to the East Coast to compete in the Gill Coed Sailing National Championship, May 28-31. The event will be held at he Sail Newport center at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, R.I.
The first two days of racing will be the semifinals, which is divided into two 18-team regattas.. The top nine teams from each group will then advance to the Finals Round – an 18-boat regatta, which will take place on the last two days of the championship, May 30-31.

Samuel Patton.The 'Bows qualified for the nationals by finishing in third place at the PCCSC Coed Championship last month in Long Beach, Calif.
This year marks UH's 18th coed national championship apperrance. The Rainbow sailors are looking to advance to the finals for the first time since 2005. The 'Bows finished in 12th place in their last national semifinal appearance in 2017 in Charleston, S.C.
