In its final tune-up for the Big West Conference Championship, the University of Hawai'i men's golf team will compete in the 73
rdWestern Intercollegiate, Monday, April 15 through Wednesday, April 17 at the famed Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, Calif.
The Golf Channel will provide live coverage for all three days of the tournament, which is hosted by San Jose State. The tournament will air at 1-4 p.m. HT on Monday and Tuesday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. HT on Wednesday.
UH will make its 10
thconsecutive appearance at the Western and 18
thsince 2000. Each year, the Western is considered one of the nation's top collegiate golf tournaments and this year is no different with 10 of the 13 participating teams ranked in the Top 100 nationally.
The highest ranked team in this year's field is No. 6 Southern California along with No. 11 California, No. 16 Stanford, and No. 19 Pepperdine. Also competing are Arizona (#44), Colorado State (#46), UH, Oregon (#39), San Diego State (#67), San Jose State (#53), UC Irvine, UTEP, and Washington (#71).
In addition, two of the world's top amateurs are competing, top-ranked Justin Suh of USC and Cal's Collin Morikawa, who is ranked No. 4.
Participants will play a total of 54 holes, 18 on each day, at the par-70, 6,615 yard course with tee times beginning at 9:30 a.m. PT on Monday and Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. PT on Wednesday. The format is play-six, score-five.

rdyear, the Western is the longest running college golf tournament west of the Mississippi. UH's contingent this year includes senior
Cameron Kaneko, junior
Trevor Hirata, sophomores
Justin Arcano,
Matt Lloyd,
Justin Ngan, and
Cole Yoshida.
Kaneko is coming off a runner-up finish at the Oregon Duck Invitational, where he carded a 4-under 212 total. The Huntington Beach, Calif., native has competed at the Western three previous times with his best finish a tie for 60
thas a sophomore in 2017. In nine rounds at the Western, Kaneko has two rounds in the 60s.
Arcano and Yoshida are the only other Warriors to have competed at the Western. Last year, Arcano tied for 70
thwhile Yoshida placed 94
th.
Pasatiempo is an award-winning course known for its masterful Alister MacKenzie design. The Western features a rich history with a former champion lists that includes Johnny Miller, Peter Jacobsen, Mark O'Meara, Duffy Waldorf, Bobby Clampett, Patrick Rodgers, Mark Lyle, and Ken Venturi.
UH is hosting this year's Big West Conference Championship at Kaua'i's Wailua Golf Course in Līhu'e, April 29-30.
