SAN FRANCISCO – The University of Hawai'i coed sailing team finished eighth and the women's team finished in the 11
th in the St. Francis Invitational held March 30-31 in San Francisco Bay.
A total of 22 teams competed in the regatta with a total of nine races in each the A and B divisions completed over the weekend. Stanford captured the regatta with a low of 97 points, followed by Santa Barbara (98) and Cal Maritime (111).
UH's coed squad totaled 154 points. The B team of
Patrick Wilkinson,
Shane Snow and
Danielle Ahir competed well, finishing third in their division with 48 points.
Michael Pacholski and
Devon Stapleton sailed for 106 points placing 12th in the A division.
The Rainbow Wahine, meanwhile, finished 11
th overall and first amongst the three women's teams with 191 total points. The A team composed of
Annika Garrett,
Megan Lucas and
Megan Zamzow finished 10th overall, just eight points behind Washington.
Hayden Lahr and
Paige Sullivan finished 12th in the B division.
Next up for the coed squad is the PCCSC Team Race in Santa Barbara, Calif., April 6-7. The Rainbow Wahine will compete in the PCCSC Women's Dinghy Championship in Long Beach, Calif., April 20-21.
