HAYWARD, Calif. – As the start to a busy three-day stretch, the University of Hawaiʻi women's track and field team began action at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic on Thursday at the Chabot College Track.
The Rainbow Wahine produced three top five finishes in the javelin on Thursday.
Kathryn Philpott earned third with a mark of 37.48m (122'11").
Madelin Muilenburg and
Meg Jackson turned in matching distances of 36.25m (118'11").
In the 3,000m steeplechase,
Haley Beaumont clocked in at 11:09.89, which was a personal record and the third fastest time for the event in program history. Also setting a personal best in the 3,000m steeplechase on the day was
Alison Bowman in 11:45.87.
Brittany Kamau took fourth place in the discus with a career-best distance of 39.88m (130'10").
The Rainbow Wahine will continue the Mike Fanelli Track Classic on Friday, March 29. Friday will also mark the beginning of the Stanford Invitational for UH.
