AUSTIN, Tex.—The second official day of the women's swimming and diving NCAA Championships featured the first day of individual competition as junior
Phoebe Hines was in action at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on the campus of the University of Texas.
Hines first competition of three over the next few days was the 500 freestyle where she placed at No. 28 overall with a time of 4:41.58. While her finishing time didn't surpass her personal best of 4:38.11, her placement in the event was higher than a year ago. Last season, Hines finished at No. 34 overall when she made her first career appearance in the NCAA Championships.
Hines will return to action tomorrow (Mar. 22), as she'll compete in the 200 freestyle event. Joining her on the day will be sophomore
Karolina Hajkova as she'll compete in the 100 backstroke.
