IRVINE, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (3-1, 2-0 Big West) won its first road match of the season, defeating UC Irvine on Friday afternoon, 6-1. 
 
The Rainbow Wahine won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead. On the No. 1 court, Maayan Sela and Nikola Dolakova held off UC Irvine's Stephanie Hazell and Flora Amiri, 6-4, while on the No. 2 court, UH's Michelle Pits and Alzbeta Houbova knocked off Danielle Garrido and Jessica Tsukiji, 6-3.

In singles, Hawai'i's No. 1, Petra Melounova dominated, blanking Stephanie Nguyen, 6-0, 6-0 to start the match. UH's No. 3 Dolakova followed by defeating UCI's Garrido in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. Pits clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Tsukiji on the No. 4 court while UH's No. 2 Sela followed with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Flora Amiri. No. 5 Roxanne Resma knocked off Alyssia Fossorer in a third set super-tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-4, 10-1. UC Irvine's Arianna Tilbury avoided the shutout with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 win over Alzbeta Houbova on the No. 6 court.
 
The Rainbow Wahine will head south to take on San Diego State on Monday, Feb. 18 and San Diego on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
