Bojana Markovic was edged out by No. 37 Vivian Wolff of Georgia in three sets, 7-6 (2), 6-4, 6-4 in the Round of 32 in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Fall Championships at the Newport Beach Tennis Club on Friday.
Markovic held off Wolff in a first set tie-breaker, 7-6 (7-2). But Wolf was able to hold off Markovic in the final two sets by a break in each, 6-4, 6-4.
Markovic was the first Rainbow Wahine to ever compete in the prestigious ITA Fall Championships.
Markovic and the Rainbow Wahine tennis team will conclude their fall season on Sunday, Nov. 24 as they take on perennial power, Stanford on the Big Island.
