NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.—University of Hawai'i women's tennis player, No. 95
Bojana Markovic fell in the opening round of the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Associaton's Fall Championships.
Markovic, a junior transfer from Texas, fell to No. 18 Meible Chi from Duke in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Markovic has recorded a 6-2 during the fall season thus far.
After turning in a solid performance at the ITA Southwest Regionals last month in San Diego, Markovic was one of just 64 of the top players in the nation to compete in the Fall Championships. Markovic is the first Rainbow Wahine to be selected for the prestigious tournament.
Hawai'i will closeout their fall season with a dual match on Nov. 24 against perennial power, Stanford on the Big Island.
