The University of Hawai'i cross country team finished eighth overall at the Big West Championships Saturday morning held at the UC Riverside Agricultural Operations Course in California.

Shannon McClish did well to help us come close to a seventh-place team finish after a few down years. We'll look to finish strong at regionals in Washington."
Freshman
Rebecca DeKay paced Hawai'i for the second time this season, placing 32nd overall with a time of 22 minutes 00.8 seconds. While, graduate student
Shannon McClish finished three spots later for 35th in a time of 22:05.4.
Junior
Olivia Hill finished third for the Rainbow Wahine and 58th overall coming down the chute with a time of 23:17.8.
Rounding out the scoring five, freshman
Sarriah Brown and junior
Sienna Santiago finished in tandem, with Brown taking 62nd (23:33.7) and Santiago placing 63rd (23:34.1).
Also competing for Hawai'i, freshmen
Sophia Lodigiani finished 65th (23:35.7) and
Anna Backus finished 72nd (24:33.0).
The Rainbow Wahine will head home for a two-week break before they head back to the mainland to compete at the NCAA West Regional held in Colfax, Wash., on Nov. 15.
