HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team was busy at two different sites almost 4,000 miles apart. In Tulsa, Okla. at the ITA All-America Pre-Qualifying, both Satsuki Takamura and Nikola Dolakova fell in their opening matches. In Hawai'i members of the team competed against Hawaii Pacific on the opening day of the UH Anuenue Invite.
 
Takamura, a sophomore transfer from Pepperdine, fell by a break in both sets to Illinois' Alexandra Belaya, 6-4, 7-5. Kansas State's Ana Turco held off UH's Dolakova, 6-4, 6-3. Dolakova will face Jessica Aragon of Nebraska in a consolation match on Sunday at 4:30 a.m. HT.
 
UH junior transfer, Bojana Markovic will begin play on Oct. 7 in the All-America Qualifying Rounds while No. 33, senior Petra Melounova has earned a spot in the Main Draw which begins on Oct. 9.


Back in Honolulu, UH split their doubles matches. Freshman Rebecca Ehn and junior Sophia Storch combined to defeat HPU's Sarah Ikioka and Nicole Ballach, 8-5. The Sharks' Elodie Busson and Mihoki Miyahara defeated senior Michelle Pits and freshman Maddie Kim by a break, 8-6.
 
In singles, UH's Kim was victorious twice. She played two different players a set each. She defeated Miyahara, 5-4 and Monica Greene, 7-6.
