Wahine Sailors Finish Sixth at Fall PCC's

MORRO BAY, Calif. - The University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine sailing team closed out its fall schedule with a sixth-place finish at the PCSCC Women's Fall Championship, Oct. 26-27, in Southern California.

A total of 18 races in two divisions were completed over the weekend. The winds were light and shifty all weekend, with a short wind delay on Saturday. Stanford captured the nine-team regatta by a comfortable 23-point margin over second-place USC.

UH totaled 97 points, just three points shy of 5th place, Berkeley. The A division finished with 58 points and B division finished with 39 points. Hayden Lahr, Isabelle Anderson and Sophia Deming sailed for UH in the A division, while Kahala Furukawa and Danielle Ahir competed in the B division. The B division finished second in their division.

The Rainbow Wahine will next hit the water for the spring season, beginning with the Peter Wenner Rainbow Invitational, Jan. 18-19, at Keehi Lagoon.
