Game Notes-

UH is hitting its best stride of the year through the first half of Big West Conference play by going 3-0-1 in the first four games. Over the stretch UH has outscored the conference foes 8-3.

• The scoring has been a welcome addition to the 2019 squad, before conference play UH was only able to accumulate five goals through the first nine matches.

• The scoring threat has come from a trio of three players. Sophomore forward Kayla Ryan leads the team with four goals on the season, followed by freshman forward Kelci Sumida with three, and senior forward Kayla Watanabe with two. The hidden element has been the assist factor, along with Watanabe's two goals, she also accounted for two assists, while freshman midfielder Eliza Ammendolia leads the team with three.

• All-time series records heavily favor the visiting squads as Cal Poly holds a 7-1-1 record against UH and UC Santa Barbara sits at 8-5. In 2018 UH picked up its first win against the Mustangs at 4-0, while losing a close one against the Gauchos at 1-0.

• Following Sunday's contest with UC Santa Barbara, UH will host Senior Day festivities on the field. UH and head coach Michele Nagamine will recognize Madison Moore, Kiri Dale, Mikaelah Johnson-Griggs, Mata, and Watanabe for their contributions to the program.

WORKING TO MAKE HISTORY- The end of the 2018 season was a heart breaker for UH. Needing a win or a tie in the last match of the season against Cal State Fullerton, the 'Bows lost 2-1 finishing at No. 5 in the Big West Standings. The 2019 campaign has provided hope as UH is off to its best start since joining the conference in 2012. With four matches to go, UH has complete control of its destiny to finish in the top four and make the conference for the fist time in program history.

MATA KEEPS ADDING TO HER LEGACY- Mata was recently named the Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Week for a second time this season on Oct. 21. Mata logged 200 minutes of action last week as UH knocked off UC Riverside, 2-0, and tied with Cal State Fullerton at 1-1. The shutout against UCR was the fifth of the season for Mata. She accounted for 10 combined saves in the two matches and racked up an eye-popping save percentage of .909. For her career, Mata has been named defensive player of the week six times, tying her at No. 3 with Ashton McKeown of Long Beach State for most all-time.

EMERGENCE OF AN AUSSIE- An unsung hero for UH as of late has been the play of freshman midfielder Eliza Ammendolia. A late signee right before the start of preseason camp from Griffith, New South Wales, Ammendolia worked her way into the rotation and now the starting lineup. She has accounted for three assists and has been the premier ball feeder to the trio of forwards.

RANKINGS ARE COOL WHEN YOU'RE WINNING- Due to a strong strength of schedule and a mixture of other elements, the 'Bows have perched themselves atop the Big West in terms of RPI rankings. Entering play against Cal Poly, UH is currently No. 105. The next closest Big West team is Cal State Fullerton at No. 133.
