SAN DIEGO, Calif.—Day 3 of the ITA Southwest Regional Championships are in the books and University of Hawai'i women's tennis player fourth-seeded and  __-ranked Bojana Markovic advanced to the main draw's semifinals after defeating 13^th-seed Lisa Zaar of Pepperdine.
 
Markovic battled her way back against Zaar. After dropping the first set and edging out Zaar in a second set tiebreaker, Markovic outlasted Zaar by a break in the third to survive and advance, 3-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5. Markovic will take on the No. 1 seed who is from UCLA, Jada Hart in Sunday's semifinal at 8:30 a.m. HT.
 
In singles consolation action, freshman Madison Kim won both of her matches, defeating Arizona's Abby Amos, 6-4, 6-3 and Grand Canyon's Celina Buhr in a third set tiebreaker, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (7). Senior Nikola Dolakova notched a win over CSUN's Ekaterina Repina, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (6) and Sophia Storch came back to defeat UC Irvine's Dana Mackensen, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (7)
 
Hawai'i swept all four of their doubles consolation matches. Rebecaa Ehn and partner Sophia Storch edged out UC Irvine's Floria Amiri/Jessica Tsukiji in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (9). Petra Melounova and Madison Kim combined to double up on Arizona State's Sasa Kanecek and Tereza Kolarova, 8-4. Nikola Dolakova and Michelle Pits pulled away from UCI's Amiri and Tsukiji, 8-2 and Satsuki Takamura and Markovic defeated UCLA's Sasha Bagramov and Sophia Bendetti, 8-4.
