GAME NOTES
• UH started the Big West Conference schedule with a 72-68 loss on the road at Cal State Fullerton on Jan. 5. Redshirt sophomore forward
Amy Atwell came off the bench scoring a career-high 25 points in just 16 minutes of action. Joining Atwell for the Rainbow Wahine was sophomore center
Lauren Rewers with 10 points, giving her double-digit scoring totals in back-to-back games.
• Entering play on Saturday, UH has dropped three consecutive games with losses to Utah, Nevada, and Cal State Fullerton. Before the three-game skid, UH had won three straight games, picking up wins against Idaho, Hawai'I Pacific, and UNLV.
• Before the last three losses for UH, junior forward
Makenna Woodfolk led the squad in scoring with just over 14 points per game. During the three-game win streak she averaged 20 points per game, but in the three-game losing streak she has averaged only three points per game.
• The all-time series between the 'Bows and the Aggies is at a standstill record-wise at 8-8.
• The Aggies have won four straight games in the series, dating back to Jan. 7, 2017. Before the stretch, UH had won four of five games, spanning from 2015 through 2016.
• Each of the last six games in the series was decided by double digits with the two UC Davis victories a season ago being decided by 12 and 24 points.
• The last matchup between the two squads was a 68-56 victory for the Aggies.
Sarah Toeaina led the 'Bows with 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. While then, junior Morgan Bertsch led all scorers with 27 points in just 23 minutes of action.
• Coming into the 2018-19 season UC Davis was picked to finish No. 2 by the voting coaches and media in the Big West Conference Preseason Poll.
• The Aggies enter play with a six-game win streak, including a 67-59 victory over UC Riverside to kick-start their conference schedule.
• Much like last season, Bertsch continues to be the leading scorer for the Aggies' offensive attack, averaging 23 points and six rebounds per game. Bertsch recently accomplished a career milestone as she scored her 2,000th career point in the win over UC Riverside on Jan. 5. Her 31 point performance in the game led to her being named the Big West Conference player of the week for a third time this season.
DOING WELL IN THE CONFERENCE
UH has been able to set its self-atop the Big West in three important offensive scoring categories through the first 14 games of the season. UH ranks No. 1 in three-point field percentage (.355), No. 2 in free throw percentage (.743), and No. 4 in scoring offense (71.4 points per game).
MULTIPLE THREATS
Throughout the 2018-19 season junior forward
Makenna Woodfolk has been the most consistent offensive threat averaging 12 points per game, but UH has had five different leading scorers this season. Woodfolk is joined by, seniors
Lahni Salanoa and
Leah Salanoa, as well as junior
