HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team opened the 2019 season hosting the Hawai'i Intercollegiate Invitational on Thursday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex.
 
Only one Rainbow Warriors competed on the opening day however. UH's Lucas Labrunie won his singles match over Louisville's Clement Filho, 8-1. Labrunie also combined with Hawai'i Pacific's Guilherme De Medeiros in a double match against the Cardinals. The mixed duo edged out Louisville's Marcus Sulen and Juan Paredes, 7-6.
 
The full Rainbow Warrior squad will face Louisville in their first dual match of the year on Friday, Jan. 11 at 3:00 p.m. The Hawai'i Intercollegiate Invitational will conclude on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
