SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—Two members of the University of Hawai'i men's tennis team competed on Day 2 of the 2018 Battle In The Bay Classic on Saturday. The 19-team tournament is hosted by the California Tennis Club in San Francisco, Calif.
In the main doubles draw, Hawai'i's duo of
Andre Ilagan and
Blaz Seric played their Round of 16 match against the No. 2-seeded Brandon Holt and Tanner Smith of Southern California. Ilagan and Seric fought hard but fell to the Trojans, 8-5.
Seric also faced USC's Tanner Smith in the Round of 16 Singles Consolation draw. For the second straight day, Seric fell in a tightly contested match. Smith advanced to the consolation quarterfinals with a 7-6 (4), 7-5 win over Seric.
The Rainbow Warriors are next scheduled to play in the ITA Regional Tournament in Malibu, Calif., Oct. 19-23.
