Game Notes
- First meeting between the teams since Nov. 30, 2013 in Honolulu. UH won that game 49-42 to avoid a winless season. UH has won all three games in the series, including the only meeting in West Point, N.Y., Sept. 11, 2010, a 31-28 victory.
- UH is 3-0 after a 43-29 win over Rice last Saturday. The Warriors last opened with a 3-0 mark in 2007, en route to a 12-0 regular season.
- Army evened its record to 1-1 following a 38-14 home-opening win over Liberty. The Black Knights opened the season with a 34-14 loss to Duke.
- Army head coach Jeff Monken began his coaching career as a UH graduate assistant. He coached the Rainbow Warrior slotbacks in 1989 and secondary in 1990.
- The trip to West Point, N.Y., marks UH's second-longest trek for a game on the U.S. continent (4,955 miles). The longest was last year's trip to UMass in Amherst, Mass. (5,006). UH will play in the Eastern Time Zone for the 13th time and fourth consecutive year and owns a 2-10 all-time record.
- UH is 7-0 when scoring 40+ points under head coach Nick Rolovich, including 3-0 this season. Along with his tenure as UH offensive coordinator (2010-11), UH is 18-0 when scoring 40+ points.
- UH quarterback Cole McDonald has not thrown an interception in 120 career pass attempts including 111 attempts this season. McDonald is the nation's leader in total offense, averaging 430.0 yards per game. He is also No. 3 in passing (388.3 ypg) and No. 8 in passing efficiency (197.1).
- UH enters the game No. 4 nationally in passing offense (391.0 ypg), No. 15 in scoring offense (48.3 ppg), and No. 23 in total offense (540.0 ypg). Army ranks No. 8 nationally in rushing offense (308.5 ypg). UH has allowed 196.3 rushing yards per game, which is 100th nationally.
- UH's 145 points through its first three games are the most to open a season since 2007 (157; 63 vs. No. Colorado, 45 vs. La. Tech, 49 vs. UNLV).
- UH has scored on its opening possession in all three games and have not trailed at any point this season. The Warriors failed to score on their opening possession in all 12 games last season.
- UH is 13-14 all-time against the academies — 7-13 vs. Air Force, 3-0 vs. Army, 3-1 vs. Navy. The last time UH faced two academies in the same year was 2013 (L at Navy; W vs. Army).
- Under Rolovich, UH is 5-8 in road games (3-3 in '16; 1-5 in '17; 1-0 in '18).
