SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (2-13, 1-2 Big West) battled on the road, but fell to Cal Poly (15-5, 3-0 Big West), 4-0 in their second of three road matches.
 
The Mustangs earned the doubles point by winning matches on Courts 1 and 3 by identical 6-3 scores.
 
In singles, the Rainbow Warriors tried to fight back. On Court No. 6, Cal Poly's Karl Enander held off UH's Chia-Hua Lu by a break in the first set before pulling away in the second, 7-5, 6-2. The Mustangs' No. 5 Alexander Stater then defeated Tristan Martins in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 and CP's No. 4 Axel Damiens then knocked off UH's Fabian Woehrl to clinch the match, 6-3, 6-4. On Courts 1, 2, and 3 the 'Bows all fell in the first set, but were clawing their way back in the second set when the match was captured.
 
The Rainbow Warriors will remain on the road for one last match at UC Irvine on Wednesday, April 11 at 1:30 pm
