SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team opened their three-match California roadtrip with a loss at UC Santa Barbara, 7-0. The Rainbow Warriors fall to 2-12 overall and 1-1 in the Big West, while the Gauchos improved to 11-6 overall and 1-0 in the BWC.

The Gauchos captured the doubles point, winning on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts. The No. 2 pair of Lucas Labrunie and Chia Hua Lu's match against Simon Freund and Joseph Rotheram went unfinished.

In singles, UCSB was dominant as they swept all six matches. The No. 6 match finished first with Hironori Koyanagi defeating UH's Lu, 6-1, 6-0. UCSB's Victor Krustev followed by defeating Hawai'i's Fabian Woehrl, 6-2, 6-1 and the Gauchos clinched the match on Court No. 3 as Aleksa Lazarevic fell to Anders Holm, 6-1, 6-0.

Hawai'i will remain in California as they go up the coast to face Cal Poly on Sunday in a Big West match.
