INDIAN WELLS, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team heads to the 2018 Big West Tennis Championships as the No. 4 seed. The Rainbow Wahine will open play against No. 5 seed Long Beach State on Friday, April 27 at 6:00 a.m. HT.
The 'Bows and 49ers met earlier this season on Feb. 10 at the Rhodes Tennis Center in Long Beach, Calif. on the 'Bows first roadtrip of the year. UH defeated LBSU, 5-2 in their first conference match of 2018.
Hawai'i is led by 80
th-ranked
Petra Melounova. She leads the team with a 13-3 overall record and 11-3 record in dual matches all played on the No. 1 court. Melounova enters the tournament on a five-match win streak and is 6-1 in conference matches. In doubles, she and partner
Roxanne Resma have a team-best 13-4 overall record and have gone a perfect 7-0 in conference.

Michelle Pits and junior
Roxanne Resma have also recorded 13 overall singles wins. Pits is 13-7 overall and 5-2 in the Big West while Resma is 13-10 overall and she tallied a team-best 7-1 record in conference. Senior Klara Priyblova also has tallied double-digits in win singles with an 11-13 record.
In doubles, UH's No. 1 duo of
Nikola Dolakova and Pribylova also has double-digits in the win column with a 10-9 overall record and are 3-1 in the Big West.
Hawai'i has a 6-5 record in the Big West tournament since rejoining the league in 2013. Last year, the 'Bows were the No. 1 seed as the BWC regular season champs. UH fell for the second-straight season to UCSB in the championship match.
