Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team finished the season with a bang, edging out UC Riverside, 4-3 at the SRC Courts on Thursday morning. The Rainbow Warriors fought back to capture the doubles point and captured three of the singles matches for the win. It was UH's final match of the regular season.
 
In doubles, the 'Bows shook up the lineup with Blaz Seric joining forces with Felix Albert on the No. 1 court. Playing at No. 2 was Fabian Woehrl and Aleksa Lazarevic while Lucas Labrunie and Chia-Hua Lu competed on the No. 3 court. LaBruinie and Lu started the match with a 6-2 win over UCR's Pawel Jankowiak and Anderson Ju. The Highlanders evened the match winning on the No. 2 cour by a break with Woehrl and Lazarevic falling to Filip Engstrom and Kyle McCann, 6-4. Seric and Albert then clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 (6) win over Benjamin Kilchherr and Nabil Abdallah. UH's No. 1 duo fought off four match points to tie the score at 6-6 and went out to win 7-6 (8-6) in the tiebreaker.
 
Hawai'i's No. 1 singles player Seric kept things going with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Jankowiak. But the Highlanders then took the lead, winning three-straight matches on the No. 5, 6, and 3 courts to go up 3-2. UH's No. 2, Albert then stopped the UCR surge with a three-set win over Kilchherr, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0. No. 4 Lazarevic then clinched the win in a hard fought, 7-5, 7-6 (4) win over Abdallah.
 
The Rainbow Warriors improved to 2-3 in conference and 3-14 overall. The 'Bows will have to wait until all the other teams finish their regular season matches to determine what seed they will be for the 2018 Big West Men's Tennis Championship tournament, which runs from Thursday, April 26 – 29 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif.
