LOS ANGELES, Calif. – After a 10-day layoff, the No. 3 the University of Hawai'i beach volleyball team is back in action this week when they head to the road for six matches, all versus nationally-ranked squads, over a four-day span in Southern California.
The Rainbow Wahine (3-1) will begin the road trip at No. 4 UCLA on Thursday, March 8. It will be UH's third meeting with the Bruins in its first five matches. The team's split a pair of matches in Honolulu on the opening weekend of the year, with UH sweeping UCLA 5-0 and the Bruins edging UH, 3-2, the next day.
UH will also face No. 17 Loyola Marymount in a neutral court match at UCLA on the same day. UH is 8-1 all-time against LMU.
UH will then compete for the first time in the East Meets West Challenge which brings together the top teams from across the country at Manhattan Beach Pier, March 10-11. The SandBows will take on No. 20 TCU and No. 5 Florida State on Saturday, before facing No. 9 LSU and No. 13 Florida International.
