WOODLAND, Calif. - A total of 34 University of Hawai'i swimming and diving student-athletes combined to earn 92 All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) honors as the league announced its all-conference selections on Tuesday.
Al-MPSF recognition was based on results from last week's MPSF championship meet, where the Hawai'i women defended their championship and the men rose to a close second-place finish. Top-three finishers in individual events along with championship relay teams earned first-team recognition, while fourth through eighth-place individual finishers and second- and third-place relay teams were recognized with second-team honors.
The Rainbow Wahine had 20 different student-athletes earn a total of 56 all-MPSF honors en route to their title defense. Junior
Franziska Weidner received seven honors, all first-team recognition.
For the Rainbow Warrior, 14 swimmers and divers combined to earn 36 All-MPSF awards.
Mateusz Chaba received six awards, two on the first team and four on second team. Last year's leader, junior
Metin Aydin, recorded five awards also with junior
Reed Wynn.
