GAME NOTES

• UH enters Saturday's contest winners of three of the last four games, the lone loss was the most recent, dropping a 73-48 affair to undefeated Utah.

• Before Utah, UH held three consecutive wins over Idaho, Hawai'i Pacific, and UNLV.

•Junior forward Makenna Woodfolk has been the most consistent player for the Rainbow Wahine, averaging 13.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Before hitting a defensive road block in Utah, Woodfolk scored in double figures for six straight games.

• Senior guard Leah Salanoa has been a pleasant surprise so far this season as she is one of two players averaging double-digit points per game at 10.2. Her career scoring average is 4.6 points per game, and as a junior only added 3.2 points per game.

• Saturday's game with Nevada will be the last non-conference game of the season for UH. Of the 13 games, eight were played in Honolulu with five other games either on opposing sites or neutral floors.

• The all-time series belongs to UH at 24-16. The two squads played consistently in the 2000s as members of the Western Athletic Conference. Nevada now resides in the Mountain West with UH holding a spot in the Big West.

• Nevada took the last matchup between the two programs on Dec. 18, 2016, escaping with a 67-59 win in triple overtime. Before the loss, UH won back-to-back games in 2012, and from 2008-2011 the Wolf Pack beat the 'Bows eight consecutive times. While impressive, it isn't the longest winning streak between them, UH won nine consecutive games versus the Wolf Pack from 1992-1995.

• Opposite of UH, Nevada comes into Saturday winning its latest game, upending Seattle 67-54. Before the win, Nevada went 1-4 over a five-game stretch.

• UH and Nevada share two common opponents, the first being with Seattle with the Bows' and Wolf Pack prevailing. The other is against Utah where both squads lost by double-digits.

NAGGING INJURIES
The through the first two to three weeks of the season, UH was playing with a depleted roster especially in the post position. Since Thanksgiving, the 'Bows have welcome redshirt sophomore Amy Atwell and Lahni Salanoa back into the rotation. Neither has cracked the starting lineup yet, but at times have played significant minutes off the bench. Atwell has shown signs and glimpses of the player she can be with her defense and shooting range, while Salanoa is the most consistent three-point and post threat for UH over the last two seasons.

DUEL IN THE DESERT
UH competed in the Duel in the Desert for the second consecutive season and notched their first win over the two years with a nail-biting victory over host UNLV, 66-61 in the opening game of the tournament. UH fell in the championships game of the Rebel Division two days later, as Utah claimed the Rebel bracket over UH, and Kansas came away as the champions of the Desert Division.
