Honolulu—The University of Hawai'i soccer team and head coach Michele Nagamine announced the signing of seven student-athletes to the 2019 recruiting class on Wednesday.
 
This season's recruiting class represents six states including one local product from Honolulu. Along with the vast geographical reach, the Rainbow Wahine expanded their roster with versatile players who can play multiple positions on the field.

Kelci Sumida of Honolulu: Center Mid
 
California:
Batya Bagully of San Marcos:  Forward/Midfielder
Malia Faramarzi of Encinitas:  Defender/Midfielder
 
Arizona:
Lia "V" Jimenez of Chandler:  Defender
 
Idaho:
Grace Pekovich of Meridian:  Midfielder/Defender
 
Colorado:
Emily Cottrell of Castle Pines: Defender
 
Georgia:
Loren House of Decatur: Defender
 
The Rainbow Wahine worked with an intimate roster during the 2018 campaign of just 20 student-athletes, three of which were goalies, leaving 17 active position players to rotate throughout the year. The 2019 recruits will bolster a young roster looking to build off one of the more successful seasons in recent memory.
