The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team will travel to Brea, Calif., this Saturday to compete in the Big West Championship held at the Carbon Regional Park. 
 
Traveling an eight-woman squad, head coach Tim Boyce elects to maintain the same travel roster from two weekends ago at the Bronco Invite, which showcased their best team performance since the 2016 season with four new 6k PRs.  
 
The Rainbow Wahine, now recharged after resting at last week's Chaminade Invitational, will finally be a healthy unit for the first time this season. The duo of sophomore Sienna Santiago and senior Danielle Girard have both dealt with lingering ailments all season but have regained full stride. Meanwhile, juniors Haley Beaumont and Tristan Setzer etched their names on the travel roster, after making a full recovering since missing the entire 2017 season due to injury.
 
Hawai'i will boast an experienced lineup as they enter the postseason as 4-of-8 runners have competed at previous conference championship meets. Junior Alison Bowman, sophomore Teuila Gardner, and freshmen Olivia Hill and Sierra Delaware will all get their first taste of the Big West Championship.
 
At last year's Big West Championships, Girard recorded her fastest 6k of her career, coming across the finish line in 22:31.5, while placing 43^rdoverall. UH finished ninth overall, logging 259 points with an average time of 23:49.
