SEATTLE – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine track and field squad completed its second meet of the Indoor campaign on Saturday, wrapping two days of competition at the UW Invitational at Dempsey Indoor.
Unsurprisingly, the highlight of the meet for the Rainbow Wahine was sophomore
Lily Lowe, who matched her career-best mark of 5-10.75 (1.80m) in the high jump to win the event over a bevy of western region competition.
Junior pole vaulter
Amanda Bowers reached an Indoor best with a 12-4.75 (3.78m) mark to finish seventh in the event. Meanwhile junior
Nina Bean vaulted a career-high 11-10.75 (3.63m) to move into the UH program top-10 list and finish 19th.
Kahili Novokoff tossed a career-best 42-2.25 (12.86m) in the shot put to finish 19th overall, while
Sienna Santiago (5,000m, 18:46.21),
Raion Black (60m, 8.19) and
Natasha Currence (200m, 27.25) each recorded notable season bests in their respective events.
The Rainbow Wahine will return to the Dempsey Indoor next for the third time, heading back to Seattle in two weeks for the two-day Husky Classic (Feb. 9-10), followed directly by the UW Open (Feb. 11). The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championships will round out the month at the same facility.
