LOS ANGELES – Competition continued for the University of Hawai'i divers at the elite UCLA Bruin Diving Invitational on Saturday at the Spieker Aquatics Center with more top-tier finishes form both the Rainbow Wahine and Rainbow Warriors.
Balgonie, Saskatchewan senior
Madison Sthamann topped the UH women's performers with a third-place final ranking on the three-meter springboard, recording her a career-best score of 631.35 and moving up after coming in fourth in the preliminary.
Ivy Houser finished 14th in the finals and Maria Renteria was 23rd.
On the men's side, junior
Johan Sandell and sophomore
Lucas Cooperman kept pace after strong performances sent them to the 10-meter platform final. A Huddinge, Sweden native, Sandell came in third with a mark of 715.20, while Cooperman was sixth at 624.00.
The UCLA Bruin Diving Invitational will conclude Sunday with the men's 1-meter springboard and the women's 10-meter platform event. All six Hawai'i divers will compete in the final day of action at Spieker.
