DAVIS, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team fell in a Big West Conference match at UC Davis, 6-1 on Monday afternoon at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The Rainbow Warriors dropped to 1-12, 0-3 BWC while the Aggies improved to 11-6, 2-0 in conference.
UC Davis captured the doubles point with the Aggies' No. 2 team of Alec Adamson and Tommy Lam defeating
Igor Kolaric and
Fabian Woehrl, 6-0, and UCD's No. 3 duo of Everett Maltby and Max Pham defeating UH's
Spencer Travalino and
Chris Cajigan, 6-1.
In singles, Hawai'i's
Felix Albert won his first conference match of the season, battling back to knock off James Wade in a third set super tiebreaker on the No. 2 court, 2-6, 7-5, 10-6. No. 4
Marcel Chan fought to keep things close but fell by a break in the second set to Maltby, 6-2, 6-4.
Igor Kolaric played at No. 1 for the first time this season. He fell to Adamson, 6-2, 6-3.
The Rainbow Warriors remain on the road to take on Sacramento State in a non-conference match at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club on Wednesday, April 3 at 10:00 am (HT).
