Standout Diver Ivy Houser Signs NLI With Hawai‘i

HONOLULU – Standout diver Ivy Houser of Hamilton Heights High School (Danville, Ind.) signed a National Letter of Intent to join the University of Hawai'i women's swimming and diving team this fall, head diving coach Mike Brown announced Tuesday.

"Ivy Houser will be an outstanding diver for Hawai'i on all three collegiate levels: 1-meter and 3-meter springboard along with platform diving," Brown said. "Ivy has learned her fundamentals from two of the top diving coaches in the country and is working her way up on the national level in both junior and senior diving. There is a lot of upside potential for Ivy."

Houser won the 2017 Indiana High School 1-meter diving state championship this spring, and has been one of the most successful American junior divers in USA Diving's Age Group Nationals and Junior Nationals.

Houser has learned from two of the top American coaches. At Ripfest Diving, one of the country's top diving clubs, she trains with John Wingfield, former U.S. Olympic Diving Team coach. Houser also previously trained with Sean McCarthy, the interim USA Diving High Performance Director.

"We feel that Ivy will fit in well with the current varsity divers and could help the whole team rise to a higher level, and that's pretty exciting," Brown said.

Houser comes from a diving family. Her older sister, Lacey, was an All-American diver at Indiana University and was a 2016 Olympic Trials finalist.
