HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team fell to North Carolina State on Wednesday afternoon, 6-1 at the UH Tennis Complex.
In doubles, the Rainbow Warriors started out with a loss on the No. 2 court, as NC State's Michael Ogden and Ivan Saveljic held off Igor Kolaric and Fabian Woehrl, 6-2. UH's No. 1 duo of Felix Albert and Ruben Blattner evened things up after defeating Nick Horton and Alexis Galameau, 6-2. On the No.3 court, Ruben Blattner and Eric Kenneth defeated Igor Saveljic and Georgiy Malyshev, 6-3, secured the first point for UH.
But NC State then came out and swept the Rainbow Warriors in singles. On the No.5 court, Malyshev defeated Blattner, 6-0, 6-2. No. 2 Kolaric fell to Galameau, 6-3, 6-3 and at No.4 NC State's Ogden held off Woehrl, 6-3, 6-3. NC State's No 6. Sean Burnette held off UH's Spencer Travalino by the same score, 6-3, 6-3. On the No.1 court, Albert fought valiantly but failed to capture the win and was edged out by Horton, 7-6(4), 7-5.
 
Up next, the Rainbow Warriors will play against North Carolina State on Friday, March 10 at 3:00 PM at UH Tennis Complex.
