Match Notes
HONOLULU – The fourth-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team concludes its six-match homestand with a pair of Mountain Pacific Sports Federation contests against No. 8 Stanford, Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 at the Stan Sheriff Center. Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m.
The Rainbow Warriors (18-2, 8-2 MPSF) have not lost since Jan. 20 and boast current win streaks of 13 matches, 26 sets, and 17 home matches. UH has won its last eight matches in straight-sets, including a pair over No. 14 USC last week.
Hawai'i's 13-match win streak is tied for the third longest in program history while its 17-match home win streak is two shy of the school record of 19. The Warriors also recently held a 17-match home win streak which covered the 2015-16 seasons.
Stanford (11-7, 6-5) won both of its matches last week at the Penn State Spring Break Tournament in University Park, Pa., defeating Lees McRae in four sets and the host Nittany Lions in three. The Cardinal began MPSF play with a 5-2 mark but has since lost three of four, including a pair to BYU two weeks ago in Stanford, Calif. The Cardinal's roster features libero Evan Enriques, a Kamehamea Schools-Hawai'i graduate, who is averaging 2.32 digs per set.
UH holds a 39-38 advantage in the all-time series. The home team has swept the series in each of the past three seasons.
