HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team fell to North Carolina, 7-0 on Friday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Warriors fell to 1-7 overall while NC State improved to 9-6 overall.
 
In doubles, the Wolfpack secured the double points with Nick Horton and Alexis Glarneau defeated UH's No. 1 duo Felix Albert and Marcel Chan, 6-2. Igor Saveljic and Georgiy Malyshev held off Ruben Blattner and Eric Kenneth, 6-4 on the No. 3 court to win the point.
 
In singles, NC State won all six singles matches to seal the sweep. On the No. 4 court, Malyshev defeated Marcel Chan, 6-2, 6-1 and No.2 NC State's edged out Kolaric in a second set tie-breaker, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). NC State's Ogden knocked off UH's No.5' Spencer Travalino, 6-2, 7-5. Woehrl then fell to Igor Saveljic, 7-5, 6-4 on the No. 3 court, while No. 6 Sean Burnette defeated Blattner, 7-5, 6-2. Albert battled on the No.1 court, dropping his match to Galarneau in three. Albert won the first set, but then dropped the second and the third was decided by a 10-point tiebreaker. The final score was Galarneau winning on the No. 1 court, 5-7, 6-2, 10-5.
 
Up next, the Rainbow Warriors will play against Colgate on Monday, March 13 at 3:00 PM at UH Tennis Complex.
