Complete Results

HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i track and field was back at work at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex bright and early on Saturday, playing host to the Dr. Donnis Thompson Memorial Invitational; the second in the annual Sunrise Series.

Washougal, Wash. freshman Haleigh Sudbeck continued her strong start to her rookie season, reaching a personal best to win the weight throw with a distance of 49-05.0 (15.06m). The throwers also returned good old-fashioned island traditions, bringing the coconut toss back into play. Senior Felicianna Vazquez claimed the unofficial win at 60-2.5 (18.35m); the event was not logged in the official results.

Topping the sprinters, Castle Rock senior Kendall Horan ran a season-best 25.97 seconds to win the 200m dash.

In the jump pits, Welland, Ontario freshman Alexis Brenzil collected a boost in the long jump, improving .37m over last week in Seattle with a 17-3.25 (5.26m) performance.

Next up for the Rainbow Wahine, a return trip to Seattle is on the schedule, taking on the Husky Classic at Dempsey Indoor, running from Feb. 11-12.
