REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine sailing team closed out is fall schedule with a fourth-place finish at the PCSCC Fall Championship, hosted, Oct. 28-29, by Stanford.
Despite light breezes on the first day of sailing and some foggy morning conditions on day two, a total of 24 races were eventually completed over the weekend. UCSB captured the nine-team regatta by a comfortable 17-point margin over second-place USC. UH totaled 196 points – 80 in the A division and 116 in the B division.
Caitlin Schadt (A) and
Annika Garrett (B) skippered for the Rainbow Wahine, while
Gianna Bailey,
Megan Zamzow, and
Danielle Ahir served as crew.
The Rainbow Wahine will next hit the water for the spring season, beginning with the Peter Wenner Rainbow Invitational, Jan. 20-21, at Keehi Lagoon.
