Game Storylines:
- UH seeks its first win against San Diego State since joining the Mountain West in 2012. The Aztecs have won all five MW meetings with four by double digits. UH's last win over SDSU came in a non-conference match-up in Honolulu in 2005 and its last conference win occurred in 1989, when both were members of the WAC.
- SDSU leads the all-time series 20-9-2 which began in 1939. The Aztecs also hold a 10-6-2 advantage in games played in Honolulu. Last year was the first shutout in the series since the first-ever meeting in 1939.
- The teams met every year from 1980-98 as WAC members and only twice from 1999 to 2011, until UH joined the MW in 2012.
- UH ranks 17th nationally in total offense (480.1 ypg) while SDSU ranks 24th nationally in total defense (318.8 ypg).
- Diocemy Saint Juste needs 66 all-purpose yards to break into the school's career Top 10 list. Saint Juste currently has 3,275 yards and ranks 11th all-time. He is second all-time in the school's career rushing list (2,686). He also needs just 39 carries to set a new single-season mark for attempts. Michael Carter holds the record with 221 in 1991.
- UH is 1-1 following bye weeks under coach Nick Rolovich, including 0-1 this season. Also under Rolovich, UH is 2-4 in MW home games, compared to 3-3 in MW road games. The Warriors snapped a four-game MW home losing streak two weeks ago with a 37-26 win over San José State.
- UH is 0-3 on national TV this season and 2-34 in its last 36 games. UH's last regular season home game televised by the ESPN networks was against BYU, Dec. 3, 2011 (L, 41-20).
